We require registration as a Home Care Aide with the State of California, a life scan fingerprint run through the FBI and the DOJ, a TB test at most 90 days from the orientation date, CPR certification, and a pre-employment physical.

Assistance In Home Care strives to continually educate and help our caregivers grow in their careers and advance their skill sets. We use multiple tools to help our caregivers feel prepared for any situation they encounter while on the job. From the comfort of their home or coming into our office, we empower our employees to feel they can succeed in every single shift.

Online training is excellent for information, but hands-on 1-1 training differs. Our office staff have all been CNAs and caregivers for many years, so with their experience, our caregivers can learn and refresh specific skills. Repositioning, proper transfers, and safe cleaning are just skills we teach our caregivers before they leave orientation! We urge our employees to reach out if they want more training, as we have all these accessible in our office!

California State Requirements 

California requires all caregivers to sign up on the state Registry if they haven't already. This is a simple and quick process that we can walk you through via the computer in our office.

Steps to be cleared as a Home Care Aide:

  • Sign up for the HCA Registry
  • LiveScan Fingerprint through FBI & DOJ
  • TB Test
  • CPR and First Aid
  • 5 Hour Annual Training
